Welcome | Calendar | Issues | Links | REBIC | Sign Ordinance OverviewThe Real Estate and Building Industry Coalition (REBIC) is an organization of trade associations and private firms formed to take collaborative action on issues of concern to its members in real estate sales, building, development, finance, management and leasing. REBIC is composed of 15 coalition association members in Charlotte, NC and the surrounding region:
The simple theory behind REBIC is strength in numbers. REBIC functions as the government affairs office for its member organizations with a single mission: to promote public policies which encourage regional economic growth, job creation and a healthy real estate industry. Any organization which desires to have an influence upon public policy must effectively monitor and analyze information from a wide variety of sources. It must also research and formulate policy positions, and communicate those positions to constituency groups, elected officials and agency staffs. In addition to participating in the regular meetings of its member associations, the professional staff of REBIC also monitor government meetings in Mecklenburg, Union, Cabarrus, Catawba, Gaston and Iredell in North Carolina and Chester, Lancaster and York Counties in South Carolina. In addition to local and regional meetings, Andy Munn monitors the Real Estate Commission and the North Carolina General Assembly at the state level for the Charlotte Regional Realtors Association. These meetings not only provide a source of information for REBIC and its members, they also serve as forums in which REBIC lobbies on behalf of its members. REBIC is also the parent entity of the Shelter Providers Political Action Committee Enterprise (SPPACE), which is active in supporting candidates for public office at the state and local levels. Mission StatementThe mission of REBIC is to promote public policies which encourage regional economic growth, job creation, and a healthy real estate industry:
